Arizona Cardinals veteran defensive end J.J. Watt retired from the game in January – but he received an odd text from the National Football League this week: a notification that he had been selected for one of the league’s random drug tests.

Watt, who never tested positive for any illegal substances in his entire career, took to Twitter with a screenshot mocking the request, saying: “I don’t know what happens when you click ‘Report Junk’ but I think I’m about to find out…”

The request came from someone identifying themselves as “Dillon on behalf of the NFL.”

Watt notably received a standing ovation the last time he walked off an NFL field a little over a month ago.

On January 8, Watt tweeted a brief retirement message to his fans, friends and NFL colleagues stating:

“Sometime in the coming days I’ll find the right words. But for right now, all I can say is thank you. You’ve changed my life forever and I am perpetually grateful.”

Watt’s tweet mocking the drug test received over 53,000 likes.
