The UK Version of ‘Shark Tank’ is Very Strange

Published

BBC’s Dragons’ Den is basically the UK equivalent of Shark Tank, where hopeful entrepreneurs present their concepts and products in attempts to lock down investments that could make our break their business pursuits.

Dragons’ Den is actually a predecessor to Shark Tank as the two shows aired in 2001 and 2009 respectively.

On paper, the two shows seem very similar, but after just a quick watch of both shows, the difference in production, tone, and culture of entrepreneurs across the pond is very apparent.

Dragons’ Den is much more serious, features many unprepared and anxious presenters, and the investors are hardly optimistic about the ventures even when they do end up investing.
