VIBE CHECK: ”FORSPOKEN” Demo on Playstation 5

I took the time to jump into the broken “Forspoken” demo on PS5 this weekend and two comparisons came quickly to mind: EA’s massive failure “Anthem” and People Can Fly’s surprise cult hit, “Outriders”

Traversal is fun, and the comparisons to Insomniac’s “Spiderman” and “Spiderman: Miles Morales” aren’t entirely unwarranted. The game has a unique tone, the shooting is decent and the visuals are absolutely stunning. That being said, those ingredients quite often don’t make a critical or commercial success, and given the totally out of left field plot and the oftentimes cringey dialogue, “Forspoke” has an uphill battle ahead of it. I, personally, was a huge fan of both Outriders and Anthem and will be playing this in the hopes that it falls somewhere in between the two. It will be interesting to see how this game performs, and the team here at The National Mouth will be doing in a more in-depth review once it launches.

“Forspoken” releases on PS5 and PC on January 24th, 2023. Check out the latest trailer below!
