Approximately 100,000 Chickens Killed In Egg Farm Fire

A massive fire at the 3rd largest egg farm in the U.S. took the lives of Approximately 100,000 Hens.

The fire broke out at Hillandale Farms property in Bozrah, Connecticut on Saturday. Following the first reports of the fire at 1 pm, crews from 16 surrounding fire departments arrived at the scene to help put out the devastating fire.

As of Monday, the cause of the fire is unclear and is still being investigated.

Despite concerns about the timing of the fire amidst the inflation of egg prices in the U.S., the Department of Agriculture believes the loss will have little-no impact on egg prices.
