Bourbon Review: Calumet 10

YouTube channel, It’s Bourbon Night took on an interesting challenge of a tasting with Calumet 10 – is it better than one of their and our favorite bourbons, Henry McKenna Bottled-In-Bond Single Barrel.

Going in to the review, they believed it had a chance to be at least similar to the bourbon more commonly known as McKenna 10, writing:

“Calumet Farm 10 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that is comprised of a 50 barrel small batch, is non-chill filtered, and is bottled at 100 proof. At around $80, can it compete with the similar specs of the very-popular Henry McKenna Bottled-In-Bond Single Barrel?”

According to the official Calumet site:

“Calumet Farm 10 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is Non-Chill Filtered to help capture the bold essence of this premium Kentucky spirit. Crafted in 50 barrel batches, this robust bourbon showcases the development of our traditional ‘high rye’ mash bill over time. This bourbon is planted firmly in the center of our Legacy Series expressions and possesses traditional flavors, as well as offering added depth in both nose and finish. This 10 Year Old Calumet Farm Bourbon is offered in honor of the famous thoroughbred sire, Bull Lea.”
