The Masked Singer – The Office Crossover We All Needed
Lights, camera, and plenty of action under the sea—err, on stage! On a Queen-themed night that would have even Freddie Mercury doing a double take, “The Masked Singer” introduced audiences to a spectacle that could only be described as splendidly “under pressure.” And who was the star beneath the Starfish mask? None other than Kate Flannery from “The Office,” whose reveal surely left Michael Scott somewhere cheering, “That’s what she said!”
Flannery’s journey to the stage was no less dramatic than a Dunder Mifflin office escapade. Before belting out Queen’s “Under Pressure,” she shared a tale ripe with Hollywood dreams and the anxiety of stepping into big shoes. Starfish recounted how, after her friends landed what seemed like the role of a lifetime, the pressure was on for her to make her own big splash. Then came the fateful call that changed everything: an opportunity to replace someone who had been fired.
“Nothing was going to stop me,” declared Starfish, reminiscing about her initial nervous steps on set that would eventually lead to a career-defining role. True to her words, she put her unique spin on the character, and voilà—a star was reborn.
As she owned the stage, Starfish didn’t just connect with the audience; she also had a little surprise for judge Jenny McCarthy. “Jenny, last time we hung out, I offered you tickets to my show,” Starfish revealed, adding a dash of personal charm. “Consider this one on the house.”
The judges’ guesses swirled like a carousel—Kate McKinnon, Amy Schumer, and Lisa Kudrow were all tossed into the ring by the star-studded panel. Yet, it was Ken Jeong who hit the nail on the head, correctly identifying the vivacious Kate Flannery, leaving everyone in splits and probably a little starstruck.
So there you have it—a night of stellar performances, nostalgic tunes, and a reveal that brought a little bit of Scranton right onto the stage. Michael Scott might have asked for a round of applause, but for now, let’s just give it up for Kate Flannery, who proved once again that she can indeed perform under pressure!
