Big Tech-Nical Difficulties: Google Announces Massive Layoffs

Business is not booming for Google. The company announced they will be laying off 12,000 employees– a whopping 6% of their workers.

Google and other massive tech companies did not face the same negative effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic as many businesses across America did. Riding the wave of the industry’s economic book, the company expanded their workforce. Now, as that boom has fizzled out, the company has had to make adjustments Accordingly.

According to Google’s CEO Sundar Puchai, the company was “bound to go through difficult economic cycles.”
